Walk to Remember

The Forever Footprints Walk to Remember is an annual event for parents, siblings, loved ones, and friends to walk in remembrance of their children and to celebrate their lives, no matter how long or short. Together, we walk the steps their babies will never take.

Why create a fundraising team?

YOU are the key to continuing our work

Forever Footprints originated as the OC Walk to Remember. What began as a small, 100-person walk in a park has evolved into an annual event, drawing thousands together to support hundreds of families.

This annual event is also our largest fundraiser. The money we raise through team fundraisers enables Forever Footprints to continue our mission, year-round.

By creating a fundraising team in honor of your baby or by contributing to a team, you give Forever Footprints the resources we need to:

  • Provide year-round support and resources to families,
  • Educate healthcare staff
  • Continue giving families a path to healing.

All of our support is given to families free of charge and are funded entirely by generous donors like you.

Team Fundraising Incentives

Raise money to support Forever Footprints’ mission and receive meaningful gifts, honoring your baby.

The Top 3 fundraisers by September 25 will be able to read a poem or select a song for the memorial ceremony

Deadlines for incentives prizes will be announced soon.

How does a baby name(s) get on the Memorial Wall?
You will need to register and input the information during checkout.
What’s the difference between registration & walk teams and fundraising?

There are two ways you can support Forever Footprints through the Walk to Remember: Registration and Fundraising.

Registration not only provides you with the opportunity to register for the walk, but it also allows you to create your own walk team so you can invite friends and family to walk with you on October 5th. When others register under your walk team, they are paying their way into the event and indicating that they are walking with you. If you want to create a walk team or join an existing walk team, you may do so below during the registration process. Please note that registration is required for each individual over 10 who attends the event.

Fundraising is a separate process through which you can collect donations from your loved ones to support our organization financially. These donations directly impact bereaved families and allows us to continue our support, education, and remembrance programs. Registration fees do not count toward individual fundraising goals, and if someone who donates to your page would also like to attend the event, they must register separately. Personal fundraising will also allow you to earn the exciting fundraising incentives outlined above.

To create a personal fundraising page, you must first complete your registration. Then, you will receive a confirmation message and email which contain a large pink button that says “Create or Find a Personal Fundraising Page.” Click that button to be taken to the Forever Footprints Walk to Remember Fundraising Page. On that page, you will have the options to create your own fundraising page or to find an existing page.

If you already registered and can’t find your confirmation email, you may also create a fundraising page by going directly to https://foreverfootprints.redpodium.com/crowd/walk-to-remember-2024-fundraising. Once you’ve created your page, you will have a unique page link to share. Just keep in mind that creating or contributing to a fundraising page does not automatically register you for the event.

What links do I need to register and fundraise?

This walk page contains buttons with the two different links you need to register and fundraise (see above). However, to go right to the registration page, or if you have loved ones who want to register under your walk team, they will need to register. Registration opens June 1. Once you’ve registered, you will see that confirmation message that will contain the button to lead you to the fundraising page.

If you’ve already registered or want to go directly to the fundraising page, use this link:https://foreverfootprints.redpodium.com/crowd/walk-to-remember-2024-fundraising. Then, you will see the option to create your fundraising page or find an existing fundraiser. Once you’ve made your own page, you will be able to share your unique link with friends and family.

How do I earn fundraising incentives?

After you register for the event, you’ll have the opportunity to create your fundraising page via the confirmation email you receive or through this link: https://foreverfootprints.redpodium.com/crowd/walk-to-remember-2024-fundraising

Once you’ve created your page, you can share your unique page link with friends and family to collect donations. Their donations count toward your fundraising goal and will help you reach the milestones required to earn incentives. Please note that registrations under your walk team do not count toward your fundraising goal.

When will I receive my incentives?

If you have earned a sign, it will be posted on the Walk route on event day. You may take it home with you, or pick it up from the Forever Footprints office after the event. If you do not attend the walk in-person, you may pick up the sign from the Forever Footprints office after the event. All other incentives will be shipped direct to you. Please allow 3-4 weeks for delivery. Please keep in mind that incentives are given to the fundraiser page owner.

Is there a deadline for earning fundraising incentives?

Yes, because we need to order supplies and print things in time for the walk, there are 2 deadlines for earning fundraising incentives, which will be released soon.

What time will the event start?

The event will open at 7:15 AM on Saturday, 10/5, and the Memorial Service will begin at 8:15 AM. We recommend arriving early so you can check out the booths and so you don’t risk being late for the Ceremony.

Is there a way to avoid the long registration lines?

Yes! The best way to ensure that you don’t get stuck in the long registration lines is to register as early as possible and to come to our Packet Pickup Day on Friday, 10/4. On 10/4, you will have the opportunity to check in to the event, receive your shirts and wristbands, and ask any questions you may have. This will eliminate the need to wait in the registration lines on the day of the event.

Where do I park for the event?

The event will be at the District at Tustin (2437 Park Avenue, Tustin, CA 92782) near the PetSmart. Upon pulling into the parking lot, you will see tents, balloons, and signs where our event will be held. There is ample parking in the lot, and you can park anywhere with the exception of the reserved or handicap parking spots.

How long is the route?

The route is about 3/4 mile long and goes throughout the District. There is the option for a shorter route.

What is the appropriate attire for the event?

We recommend checking the weather forecast and dressing accordingly in comfortable clothing. We recommend comfortable shoes, as you will be walking and standing.

Can I bring my pet?

Unfortunately, for liability reasons, pets are not permitted at the event unless they are a registered service animal.

Can I ride a bike or skateboard at the event?

Unfortunately, for liability reasons, bikes, skateboards, rollerblades, and other personal transportation equipment or devices are not permitted at the event.

Can I bring a stroller to the event?

Yes.

Will there be food and water at the event?

Water will be available at the event. We will not have food at the event, but registrants are encouraged to dine at Chick-Fil-A before or after the event as a portion of the proceeds will be donated back to Forever Footprints.
